Individual Sponsorship Policy

SheCon supports our bloggers and understands the need for them to gain their own individual sponsors to offset travel and lodging costs. However, we will be implementing an Individual Sponsorship Policy for SheCon 2012 to cover our liability to our venue, sponsors, speakers, and other attendees.

Individual sponsorship may be obtained as a means to cover travel, lodging, and other expenses to attend SheCon 2012. However, by registering for a SheCon pass (free or paid), all attendees are agreeing to the following terms:

1. Limitation of Sponsorship

SheCon encourages attendees to devise creative sponsorship opportunities for their partners – including but not limited to, pre- and post- conference online promotion, small group events to promote products and services, wearing of tee shirts and distribution of product samples, coupons, or promotional items offsite. However, attendees may not:

  • Distribute product samples, promotional or other items on the grounds of the Miami Beach Convention Center. Please note that distribution of food products at the MBCC is a violation of MBCC’s in-house food & beverage provider agreement, which we have signed with the venue. Only approved vendors who are exhibiting in a designated booth, produce the product they are sampling, have provided proof of insurance, as well as agreed to very specific product sampling requirements, may bring outside F&B to the convention center;
  • Schedule or promote large-scale events open to all SheCon attendees during times that conflict with our official schedule of events, including SheCon official networking events;
  • Disrupt scheduled sessions, exhibits, or other events to promote competing brands or products/services that take away from the sponsored schedule;
  • Violate host hotel policies with regards to hosting small group events, outside F&B, noise regulations, or other rules;
  • Promote an individual event as being related to SheCon, utilizing our name, logo, or other information to raise awareness or gain RSVPs for said event.
  • Violate the IAEE’s standardized No Suitcasing Policy.

2. Limitation Of Liability.

SheCon is required to carry insurance for our scheduled programming, which includes educational sessions, our expo floor, and our sponsored events. We do not carry insurance for small group, offsite events, and will not assume liability for events planned without the knowledge or input of the SheCon team or for events or promotions as part of individual sponsorships. Bloggers seeking individual sponsorship should check with their sponsors prior to committing to hosting events or giveaways, to ensure that said sponsor carries appropriate insurance (liability insurance, advertising insurance, etc) to limit a blogger’s individual liability.

3. Violations Policy

SheCon reserves the right to eject any conference attendee found to be in violation of the individual sponsorship terms outlined above, with no refund for any conference fees paid. To ensure compliance with our terms, please email SheCon@sheblogs.org with your sponsor name, details of sponsorship opportunities, and date/time of any proposed small group events.
